Mumbai, January 28 - Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has addressed the latest rumours about his casting in director SS Rajamouli's highly-awaited film with superstar Mahesh Babu. It was reported last year that Sukumaran was in talks to play the antagonist role. ## There have been rumours for the last few days that Sukumaran has been replaced by Bollywood star John Abraham due to scheduling issues, however, in the latest interview, the actor confirmed that the talks are still on for SSMB 29 though nothing has been finalized yet. ## Meanwhile, actress Priyanka Chopra is playing the female lead role opposite Mahesh Babu in this epic jungle adventure film. The look test for the actress happened recently in Hyderabad while the regular shoot is expected to commence soon. ## Apart from SSMB29, Prithviraj Sukumaran is also part of director Prashanth Neel's action drama Salaar. The first part of the movie was released in 2023 and the makers have confirmed that Salaar 2 will be released in 2026.## Salaar 2 was supposed to be Neel's immediate next after the first part but according to Sukumaran, the shoot for the film will commence after Neel's highly-awaited movie, Dragon with Superstar Jr. NTR. Rumours are that the Dragon shoot has commenced silently and is likely to be released early next year. ## Sukumaran, on the other hand, has begun promotion for his hugely-awaited Malayalam directorial, Lucifer 2: Empuraan, fronted by superstar Mohanlal. Mumbai, January 28 - Back in August 2023, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar announced the next chapter in the Don franchise. Ranveer Singh was confirmed to carry the baton forward as the next Don, replacing superstar Shah Rukh Khan who reportedly denied taking on the role due to some reasons. ## The casting of Ranveer Singh came as a surprise to many but the makers seemed confident about it. Now, according to the report by Filmfare, Farhan Akhtar has locked actor Vikrant Massey to play the antagonist role, which was unexpected. ## The report didn't reveal much about the casting except that Massey would be playing the role of a villain against Don who is himself an anti-hero. Interestingly, not long ago, Massey had announced on social media that he was taking a break from his acting career which was assumed as retirement by many.## There hasn't been any official word on the casting of Vikrant or any other aspect of the movie since its official announcement. Chennai, January 28 - The possible last chapter of Thalapathy Vijay's film career, Jana Nayagan has been garnering a lot of interest in the trade, something which has been the familiar case since the second half of his career. ## Despite the uncertainty of the film's release date and mixed reception to the first-look posters, the theatrical business of the movie is showing no sign of fatigue. According to Venky Box Office, Jana Nayagan's overseas theatrical deal has been locked at a record price. ## It is said that overseas rights of the movie have been acquired on a refundable advance basis for a record-breaking price of 75 crores. This is said to be the all-time biggest deal for a Tamil title, beating the previous record of Leo (60+ crores) which also starred Vijay. ## Jana Nayagan is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions. It is possibly to be Vijay's final film before his political entry and the studio's first Tamil production. Mumbai, January 28 - Superstar Yash is busy shooting for director Geetu Mohandas' gangster action thriller Toxic which is the actor's first film since all-time blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2. The actor also has director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana which has been on the floors since last year. ## In a recent interview, Yash confirmed his participation in Ramayana, not only as an actor but also as a co-producer. Now, according to the report by Filmfare, the actor will join the shoot of this epic by March this year. He will start with solo sequences in Lanka, followed by the Panchvati sequence. ## As already known to all, Yash is playing the role of Raavan while Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi plays Goddess Sita. The film will be released in two parts, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026, followed by the second part on Diwali 2027.## Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios with Yash's Monster Mind Creations. Hyderabad, January 28 - After the historic box office success, superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule is gearing up for its streaming debut. The movie, directed by Sukumar, the mega-blockbuster will stream on Netflix. ## On Monday, Netflix announced that Pushpa 2 - The Rule would stream in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada languages with the reloaded version of 23 minutes of extra footage which was released in theatres on January 17. It will start streaming on January 30. ## Meanwhile, the streaming giant hasn't confirmed the Hindi version release with the South Indian languages and the reason for the same is not known yet. Rai reunite for the next chapter of the Raanjhanaa world, titled Tere Ishk Mein. Mumbai, January 28 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand created history with their maiden collaboration in spy action thriller Pathaan. The film went on to gross over 1000 crores worldwide and is one of the biggest Indian blockbusters ever. ## The duo is now set to reunite for King Khan's next blockbuster titled King. The movie was supposed to be directed by Kahaani fame Sujoy Ghosh but eventually decided to drop the plan to hand directorial duty to Anand and the development has officially been confirmed by SRK himself. ## Shah Rukh Khan recently attended an event in Abu Dhabi where he spoke about his upcoming movie, King. "I am just just shooting it. I will be shooting it for a couple of months. My director, Siddharth Anand, is very strict. He made Pathaan also. He has asked me not to reveal what we are doing", the Jawaan star said.## While the actor refused to reveal anything about the film, he assured the fans that it would be an entertaining film and they would enjoy it. Mumbai, January 27 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is set to be delayed to the end of this year. Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the comedy-drama is one of the highly-anticipated Bollywood movies of the year and a potential big comeback for the actor after the debacle of Laal Singh Chaddha. ## Sitaare Zameen Par has been in production since early 2024 and was supposed to be released during Christmas 2024 weekend before makers postponed it to early 2025, but not anymore. Aamir Khan has confirmed that the movie would now be released on Christmas this year. ## The Dangal star attended the Republic Day celebrations at the Statue of Unity in Vadodara on Sunday where he shared the details about the project. It said that Sitaare Zameen Par is the sequel to his Taare Zameen Par and the makers are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. ## The upcoming movie is based on the Spanish film Champions (2018) and stars Genelia Deshmukh as the female lead. Ahmedabad, January 27 - The British rock band, Coldplay has concluded its historic India tour at the Iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The band, led by pianist and singer Chris Martin, had a historic couple of nights in the most populous city of the state which saw a record turnaround. ## Home Minister of Gujarat, Harsh Sanghav announced on social media platform X that two concerts of Coldplay in the city on January 25 and 26 welcomed a record-breaking 2.5+ lakh visitors, including 1.70 lakh+ visitors from outside Gujarat state. ## On Republic Day, the Coldplay concert was attended by 134K+ people which is said to be the largest attended concert in Asia in the 21st century.
