Mumbai, September 11 - Ajay Devgn-fronted crime thriller Raid 2 has officially been postponed to February next year. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in the prominent roles. ## Raid 2, which is the sequel to Raid (2018), will be hitting worldwide theaters on February 21, 2025. It was supposed to be released on November 15 this year but due to another film of Ajay scheduled to be released in November in the form of Singham Again, the makers have pushed Raid 2 back by nearly 4 months. ## Just like the first movie, Raid 2 is also based on true incidents. Ajay Devgn returns to reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who tracks another white-collar crime. Riteish Deshmukh plays the antagonist role while Vaani is the female lead and both are the new addition to the cast. ## Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of T-Series and Panorama Studios. Mumbai, September 10 - Director Nitesh Tiwari's epic Ramayana is the biggest Indian film in the making and the shoot for the same is happening at a brisk pace with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. It is easily the most anticipated film with a stellar cast attached to it. ## Recently, it was reported that Ranbir Kapoor would be playing a dual role in the movie as Lord Ram and Maharshi Parsuram. The actor has already completed 90% of his work on Ramayana: Part One. Now, according to the report by Pinkvilla, superstar Yash, who plays the role of Raavan, will start shooting for this epic in December this year. ## It is said that Yash has undergone several look tests for his character in Ramayana and is all set to start shooting in December 2024 after completing a major chunk of his next, the Geethu Mohandas-directed Toxic. The KGF star is excited to explore one of the most complex characters from Ramayana. ## Yash will continue shooting for Ramayana: Part One till the first quarter of 2025 and sometime in mid-year, he will shoot for the combination scene with Ranbir. Meanwhile, Sunny Deol will start filming for the movie in the summer of 2024 after completing Border 2. He is playing the role of Lord Hanuman and has allotted bulk dates for the same. ## Ramayana is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios in partnership with Yash's Monster Mind Creations with a budget of $100 million. The entire shoot of the film is expected to be wrapped by August 2025 and VFX work for the same is going on in full swing on the already shot part. Mumbai, September 10 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan teamed with director AR Murugadoss for an action drama film, titled Sikandar. The movie, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, has Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead alongside Sathyaraj and Pratik Babbar. ## According to the latest reports, Kajal Aggarwal has also joined the stellar cast of Sikandar. The details of her role are not yet known. It will be the first time Kajal will share screen space with Salman Khan in Sikandar which is scheduled to be released on Eid 2025. ## Sikandar also marks director AR Murugadoss's highly anticipated return to Hindi cinema after an eight-year hiatus following Akira (2016). Meanwhile, the shoot of the film is going on at a brisk pace and as per reports, Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna will head to Europe by the end of this year to shoot a few songs. ## Kajal Aggarwal, on the other hand, has a couple of films in the pipeline. Mumbai, September 10 - One of the most-awaited films of the year, Telugu superstar Jr. NTR-fronted action drama Devara - Part 1 is breaking pre-sales records in North America as it already crossed $1 million for the premiere even before the trailer was launched.## It is said that no other Indian film in the past breached $1 million in pre-sales in North America before the trailer was launched and Devara is the first to achieve this feat which speaks a lot about the hype around the movie, not just in India but outside as well. ## Jr. NTR, at the trailer launch event of Devara in Mumbai on September 10, reacted to the record-breaking response to the film in advance sales. The actor said that they had nothing to do with it as it is the love of the fans and audience which is pouring in the form of pre-sales. He showered gratitude towards fans for the love and support they have given his films over the years. ## It is to be noted that Devara is Jr. NTR's first film since RRR (2022) which was a big success in North America with over $15 million. Chennai, September 10 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has crossed 300 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, becoming the second movie of the actor to achieve the feat after last year's Leo. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT topped 300 crores worldwide gross after scoring approximately 22 crores gross on its 5th day for around 303 crores. With this, it has outgrossed the lifetime total of Bigil (295 crores) and Varisu (297.50 crores) to become Thalapathy Vijay's second-biggest grosser. ## The GOAT is performing very well at the home state, Tamil Nadu where it has so far grossed approximately 120 crores in 5 days. The rest of the domestic market has been underwhelming with 58 crores gross, for 178 crores total India gross. ## Overseas, The GOAT is exceptional with approximately 125 crores gross collection which is the second highest for Vijay after Leo's 204 crores gross collection. Leo is also the biggest worldwide grosser of Vijay with approximately 606 crores gross. ## The GOAT is the 7th Tamil movie of all time to enter the 300 crores gross club, after 2.0, Leo, Jailer, Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 and Part 2, and Vikram. Mumbai, September 10 - Actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's 2016 romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam might not have performed well at the box office, but it received acclaim for its music and performances back in the day that it is considered one of the best romance dramas in Bollywood. ## 8 years after Sanam Teri Kasam, the movie is getting a sequel with Harshvardhan Rane returning to reprise his role. The movie was officially announced on Tuesday (September 10) with Deepak Mukut of Soham Rockstar Entertainment producing it. ## While the makers haven't announced officially yet, it is said that the director duo of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru will also be returning to helm Sanam Teri Kasam 2 which will go on floors soon. Los Angeles, September 10 - Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' much-anticipated Spider-Man 4 is officially in development and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton has been handed over duty to direct it, per The Hollywood Reporter.## Amid the speculation of who would take up the role to direct one of the biggest Hollywood films in the making, Cretton is set to lend the job. The filmmaker will bring fresh blood to this iteration of Spider-Man. Tom Holland will return to reprise his role as the web-slinger in the upcoming film. ## Destin Daniel Cretton will be the fourth director to direct a Spider-Man movie. Earlier, Jon Watts directed the previous three Holland-starring movies, while Marc Webb helmed the two Amazing Spider-Man movies that starred Andrew Garfield. Sam Raimi directed the trilogy that featured Tobey Maguire. ## The production of Spider-Man will commence in early 2025, and according to rumours, it will be released in July 2026, a couple of months after Avengers: Doomsday, which will be directed by the Russo Brothers. Interestingly, Cretton was supposed to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (now Avengers: Doomsday), but was dropped amid the project's changing production schedule. ## Meanwhile, Cretton also has Sang-Chi 2 and a live-action adaptation of Naruto in the pipeline to direct. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time sees a drop of around 60% on its first Monday, which is a working day from Sunday, which was expected due to mixed word of mouth and huge first-weekend collection. ## The drop could have been even bigger if not for the home state, Tamil Nadu where the movie remained solid by holding close to 50% collection on Sunday. According to the early estimates, The GOAT is expected to score in the range of 13-14 crores gross collection on its 5th day/first Monday in Tamil Nadu. ## The total collection of the film in Tamil Nadu is around 120 crores in 5 days. The stardom of Thalapathy Vijay on the home turf continues to attract the audience that is proving to be a lifeline for The GOAT which is otherwise a goner in the rest of the domestic market as overall estimates suggest around 16 crores gross (14 crores net) collection on Monday. ## After the first Monday, the total domestic collection of The GOAT is around 177 crores gross (151 crores net), per estimates. Chennai, September 9 - One of the biggest Tamil films of the year, Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time had a fantastic first-weekend collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu and overseas box office, however, the movie is not performing in other parts of the country. ## Other than Tamil Nadu, The GOAT has heavily underperformed in other states of India, especially in Telugu and Hindi states where it has grossed just around 23 crores of gross collection. The performance of the movie in Telugu states is shockingly poor as Thalapathy Vijay's previous few films did well there. ## While the audience outside Tamil Nadu is not loving the movie, director Venkat Prabhu has made a weird excuse for the film's failure in Telugu and Hindi. During a recent interaction, the filmmaker stated that due to the references to the IPL cricket team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the movie, it is not working in Telugu and Hindi. ## The rivalry of CSK with Sunriseres Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which has massive fan-following nationwide, is well known, and director Venkat Prabhu feels that because he supports CSK, the audience of Telugu and Tamil are staying away from watching the movie. ## This is a funny excuse by a seasoned filmmaker as the movie, unfortunately, is not resonating with audiences. However, The GOAT is performing excellently in the home state, Tamil Nadu where it grossed approximately 106 crores in the 4-day opening weekend while the rest of the domestic gross was 55 crores. Chennai, September 9 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has become the 8th movie of the actor to cross 100 crores gross collection in the home state, Tamil Nadu after the excellent 4-day first weekend. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT scored approximately 106 crores gross in the state. It opened to a huge 29.50 crores gross in TN upon its Thursday release, followed by a fantastic hold on Friday with approximately 21.50 crores, while Saturday and Sunday collections were 27 and 28 crores gross, respectively. ## As said, it is Thalapathy Vijay's 8th 100 crores gross in Tamil Nadu. Mersel (2017) was the first film of Thalapathy to breach this milestone. After Mersel, the Leo star has done 7 films (Sarkar, Bigil, Master, Beast, Varisu, Leo, and The GOAT) and all of them went to the top 100 crores gross in the state. ## Vijay is the undisputed king of the Tamil Nadu box office and has delivered every time irrespective of the reviews. At the worldwide box office, the movie has grossed approximately 281 crores, including 161 crores in India and 120 crores overseas in the first weekend. Mumbai, September 9 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara: Part 1 is heading for a massive start at the North American box office. Ahead of the trailer launch on September 10, the film's pre-sales are already nearing $1 million in NA. ## According to Venky Box Office, Devara has sold approximately 26K tickets worth $778K for the USA premiere. The total North American pre-sales are approximately $830K with 18 days still left for the premiere which is on September 26. The advance sales are expected to jump further after the trailer release.## Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara is anticipated to score the biggest premiere for an Indian movie in North America. Currently, Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has the highest premiere day with $3.5 million and the current trend indicates Devara has a chance to beat this figure. ## Jr. NTR's popularity is at an all-time high post the mega-blockbuster success of RRR which scored $3.3 gross collection in North America premiere in March 2022, and it went on to gross over $15 million there.
