Los Angeles, August 31 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR returns to the big screens after more than 2 years with the upcoming action drama Devara: Part 1. The movie, directed by Koratala Siva, also stars Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in prominent roles.## Scheduled to be released on September 27, Devara is having a very good buzz and is expected to storm the worldwide box office, of which it is already showing a glimpse in its pre-sales. With 4 weeks still left for the release, the movie is off to strong advance booking in the USA.## Within hours of the opening of pre-sales, Devara stormed to a $100K gross collection on very limited shows with some of them completely sold out for the USA premiere which is on September 26. This shows the massive anticipation for the movie among the audience. If the momentum continues, it could well be NTR's biggest solo premiere in North America.## The mega-blockbuster success of Jr. NTR's last film, RRR (2022) might also have a say in the blockbuster start of Devara in the USA pre-sales. Hyderabad, August 30 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's action comedy Gabbar Singh (2012) is getting to re-release in its remastered 4K version on the evening of his 56th birthday on September 1. The movie, which is the remake of the Hindi film Dabangg (2010), is directed by Harish Shankar. ## Gabbar Singh was a massive blockbuster in its original release in 2012 and now, it is set to score another big success with its re-release. The film's advance booking already opened and it is excellent everywhere, be it domestically or at the overseas box office.## In Telugu states, the pre-sales of Gabbar Singh are around 4 crores gross while worldwide advance sales have crossed the 5 crores gross mark. Mumbai, August 30 - Blockbuster director Ali Abbas Zafar is returning to Yash Raj Films to direct some of the biggest films upcoming films from the studio, reports Variety. ## The Sultan director made his directorial debut with YRF's romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, starring Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in 2011. He followed this with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's Gunday (2014) for the studio. ## Zafar got his biggest breakthrough under YRF in 2016 when he directed superstar Salman Khan's sports drama Sultan which is his highest-grossing film to date. A year later in 2017, the filmmaker reunited with Salman for another blockbuster, Tiger Zinda Hai, the second instalment of YRF's popular spy universe franchise created by YRF head Aditya Chopra. ## After making his first 4 directorial ventures for Yash Raj Films, Abbas Zafar reunited with the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star for the third time for Bharat (2019) which was the filmmaker's first movie outside YRF, before he directed 2 OTT films - Jogi (2022) and Bloody Daddy (2023). ## After scoring big success with all his theatrical films, Ali had a rare misfire earlier this year in the form of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which bombed at the box office. Now, after nearly 7 years, the successful filmmaker is making his way back to YRF where he scored a couple of his biggest blockbusters.## It is not yet clear which upcoming YRF projects Ali will direct and the report says it will be original theatrical tentpole titles. Mumbai, August 30 - In the shocking turn of events, the censor certificate of Kangana Ranaut-fronted Emergency has been stalled amid threats to the members of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), claims Kangana. ## Yesterday, it was reported that CBFC had passed the film with a U/A certificate. Mumbai, August 30 - Sidharth Malhotra is reportedly gearing up to return to the romantic genre after doing action films over the last few years. The actor is said to be teaming up with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films for the same. ## According to the report by Mid-Day, the Student of The Year star has been in talks with Vijan for a romance drama film. It is said that the actor has loved the script and is excited to team up with Maddock Films which is known for bringing modern romances to the screen. ## The film in question, not titled yet, will reportedly be directed by Dasvi fame Tushar Jalota. The upcoming project is said to be a love story with a unique and refreshing approach. Hyderabad, August 30 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, has been a massive box office success and the way it concluded has increased the excitement for its sequel to the next level, however, there is a catch. ## While the buzz around Kalki 2 is at an all-time high, the producers have confirmed that the movie won't be hitting the big screens until 2028. ## Producers and sister duo Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies were present at the screening of Kalki 2898 AD at the Moscow Film Festival where they said that the filming of Kalki 2 will start in the next five or six months, around January or February 2025. (via News18). ## Kalki 2898 AD was shot in a lengthy period of 3 years and unconfirmed reports have said that the sequel will take another 3 years before it gets ready to hit the screens. This means Kalki 2 will be released in 2028, and producer Priyanka Dutt said that they will be able to talk more about it once it starts.## As reported earlier and hinted at in the climax of the first part, Kalki 2 will focus on Yaskin's character (played by Kamal Haasan), the antagonist of the franchise, as he embarks on his perilous mission. Mumbai, August 29 - Universal Pictures has officially revealed the title and the first of the new Jurassic World film, led by Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali. It is the seventh film in the 31-year-old science fiction action franchise. ## On Thursday (August 29), Universal Pictures announced on social media the new Jurrasic World movie has been titled Jurassic World Rebirth and it will debut in theatres on 2 July 2025. Gareth Edwards ("Rogue One: A Star Wars Story") is directing the film. ## The official synopsis of the movie states, "The film will be set five years following the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022) when "the planet's ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Mumbai, August 29 - Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited biographical drama Emergency is all set to hit the big screen on September 6 and there is some excitement among the fans regarding the same. The movie is directed by Kangana who also plays the lead role as former Prime Minister of India, the late Indira Gandhi. ## Produced by Manikarnika Films in association with Zee Studios, Emergency was reportedly censored on August 29 and it has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 27 minutes (147 minutes). ## The official plot summary of the film states that the Emergency film is the depiction of the most catastrophic spectacle in the history of Indian democracy. Standing at the core of this is one of the most controversial leaders of all time the first woman prime minister of India MRS. Chennai, August 29 - Veteran Telugu star Nagarjuna Akkineni has officially confirmed on board superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The announcement was made on the occasion of the actor's 65th birthday, on August 29. ## Nagarjuna will play the character named Simon as the makers unveiled his first-look poster. No other details have been revealed yet. Earlier yesterday, the makers introduced Soubin Shahir as Dayal. Chennai, August 29 - Legendary Kamal Haasan and director Shankar reunited for the sequel to their 1997 Indian and released it on the big screen in July this year after years of production delays. Indian 2, produced by Lyca Production, however, failed to create any magic at the box office and ended up as a disaster.## After the no-show at the box office, Indian 2 premiered on the digital platform on August 12, 4 weeks after the theatrical release. Shockingly, the Hindi version of the movie also started streaming in less than 6 weeks after its release and this has put the makers in legal trouble. ## According to the report in Pinkvilla, the Multiplex Association of India has sent a legal notice to the team of Indian 2 for flouting the OTT rules. It is known to everyone that films released in Hindi will have to follow a strict 8-week OTT window, and the ones who don't obey the guidelines, won't get a release in the top 3 national multiplex chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis. ## The report suggests that the makers of Indian 2 had agreed to the guidelines to release the Hindi version, Hindustani 2 in multiplexes, which means, the dubbed version was supposed to be available on OTT on September 6 but MAI was shocked to know that it is already available on Netflix, much before the set window.## The Multiplex Association wants to give a stern message to all the producers to follow the 8-week window and in this process, the organization has sent a legal notice to the Indian 2 team.
