Mumbai, August 1 - Netflix finally set a premiere date for its highly-awaited Squid Game Season 2 and has also announced the third season which will be the end of the show. ## Written, created, and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game Season 2 will premiere on December 26 globally this year while the third and final season will premiere in 2025. The release date of this sci-fi survival action thriller show was announced with a video. ## Season 1 of Squid Game, which is the most-watched Netflix title ever (in any category) with 265.2 million views (2.20 billion viewing hours), introduced fans to the K-drama's titular deadly game, which forces citizens to gamble with their lives. In return, they may win a world-changing cash prize — or suffer the dire consequences. ## The official synopsis of Season 2 reads, "Using this fortune to fund his search, Gi-hun starts with the most obvious of places: look for the man in a sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organization proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it".## The upcoming show features the returning cast in Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-jun while newcomers Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an will all appear as an ensemble of colourful new characters. ## The real game begins. Mumbai, July 31 - Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's Deadpool and Wolverine has stormed past $500 million at the worldwide box office in just 7 days since its international debut on July 24, making it the fastest movie of 2024 to reach the milestone.## The first R-rated MCU blockbuster has grossed $261+ million (2185 crores) at the domestic (North America) box office through Tuesday (5 days) while the overseas collection is $284.80 million (2380 crores), for $545.80+ million (4565+ crores) at the worldwide box office.## Deadpool & Wolverine is the 6th film of the year to top $500 million globally, and with its Tuesday collection, it has surpassed Kung Fu Panda 4's $545.80 million to become the 5th biggest grosser of the year. It has also beaten Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire ($567.60 million) on Wednesday as the 4th biggest grosser of 2024.## China is the biggest international market for the movie with $30.5 million, followed by the UK with $27.70 million, and Mexico with $23.4 million through Tuesday. In India, the superhero comedy has grossed approximately 100 crores ($11.90 million) so far.## Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 is projected to reach $900 million by the end of the second weekend and is expected to hit the $1 billion mark during the same week. Mumbai, July 31 - Marvel Studios' superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has crossed 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office in a flat 5 days, becoming only the second Hollywood movie of the year to achieve the feat. ## The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-fronted blockbuster had an excellent first weekend with approximately 84 crores gross and held well during the weekdays so far to add another 17 crores gross to take the total collection to around 100 crores ($11.90 million) in 5 days. ## Deadpool & Wolverine is only the second Hollywood film of 2024 after Godzilla x Kong: The New Year to enter the 100 crores gross collection in India and is one of the fastest ever to do so. It is also the first A-rated Hollywood film of all time to hit the box office century in the country.## Worldwide, the third Deadpool movie has topped $500 million, including $260+ million in North America. Mumbai, July 31 - As DCEU is trying to find its footing again, the DC Studios co-head and director James Gunn has announced that Superman movie has wrapped up filming. It is the first film in the DC Universe (DCU) and a reboot of the Superman film series. ## The principal photography of Superman began on February 29, 2024, which is the canonical birthday of the comic book superhero. Now, after nearly 5 months, the makers have officially announced the shoot wrap as director James Gunn lauds the commitment, creativity, and hard work of the cast and crew while filming for the movie.## "And that's a wrap", Gunn wrote on X. It is learned that 40% of the total shoot has been completed and the next schedule will commence in the first week of August. ## Meanwhile, the makers recently released the first look glimpse into the character of Prabhas in the movie. The glimpse shows Prabhas in his vintage avatar as a charming lover boy who is being loved by his fans who have been seeing the actor in mass action roles for the last few years.## The Raja Saab is produced by People Media Factory and the production house announced on social media that the 45-second video the First Look Glimpse scored 20+ million digital views in the first 24 hours. Hyderabad, July 30 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR is setting up a massive movie line-up as he gears up for the release of the much-awaited Devara: Part 1 on September 28, 2024. It will be the actor's first film since the mega-blockbuster RRR in March 2022.## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Jr. NTR is in talks with Nani's Hi Nanna director Shouryuv for a two-part mega-budgeted action drama. The first part is scheduled to go on floors by 2026 for 2028 release. If all goes well, it will be the maiden collaboration between the actor and one film old director.## It is said that Jr. NTR has loved the subject and he has asked Shouryuv to develop it into a screenplay. It's a high-octane action drama and is planned as a two-parter. Chennai, July 30 - The Tamil Film Producers Council has made some sensational decisions regarding the functioning of Tamil films and actors. As per reports, TFPC has decided to hold the shootings of the new Tamil movies after August 15. ## It is learned that many producers have complained about actors' negligence towards completing the films despite taking advance payment. TFPC has taken a decision that only after the actors and technicians finish the pending films, will they be allowed to act in the newly signed movies. ## One of the most important topics which were discussed by the council was the issue of films being streamed on OTT platforms early. Over the past few years, Tamil films, including star heroes movies, have been made to stream online within 4 weeks which has reduced footfalls in theatres, causing huge losses to exhibitors and distributors.## The producers' council has decided that going forward, the digital release of all-star heroes films will only be after 8 weeks of the theatrical run. The actor is currently basking on the mega-blockbuster success of Kalki 2898 AD which recently crossed 1000 crores worldwide gross.## It is known to everyone that Prabhas will be teaming up with Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi and according to the latest Telugu media reports, the shoot for the yet-untitled film will commence in September this year. Mumbai, July 30 - Marvel Studios shocked the entertainment fraternity when it announced the much-talked-about comeback of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to headline the next Avengers movies along with the director duo of Russo Brothers (Joe Russo and Anthony Russo) at the San Diego Comic-Con event recently.## Unlike what people might have thought Downey Jr. would make a comeback as Iron Man, the superhero character he has donned over the years since the inception of the MCU, the actor has been tasked to play the villainous Doctor Doom this time around.## Though the casting of Downey Jr. has garnered a mixed reception no one can deny the fact that it, along with Russos' directorial MCU comeback only gonna benefit Marvel big time just like the old days when they used to help Marvel print money at the box office like the back of hand. This, however, will cost Marvel way more than what it used to pay the Iron Man star and Russos in the past.## According to Variety, the Kavin Fiege-owned Marvel will sign a $80 million paycheck for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars and significantly more for Robert Downey Jr. to tackle uber-villain Doctor Doom in the two tentpoles. ## The report further revealed that the Russos' deal with the studio doesn't include back-end compensation, but it does contain performance escalators that kick in at the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds. It is to be noted that the director duo is also producing the upcoming Avengers movies under their banner AGBO.## Downey Jr. has been by far the biggest paid member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Variety reports that the actor has earned between $500 million and $600 million for playing Iron Man. For the upcoming Avengers movies, the actor will get the perks that include private jet travel, dedicated security and a whole trailer encampment, other than his massive undisclosed payday, which is, as said above, way more than Russos.## Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars are scheduled to be released in May 2026, and May 2027, respectively.
