Hyderabad, July 30 - There is no stopping Pan India superstar Prabhas who is gearing up for back-to-back shoots for his new films. The actor is currently basking on the mega-blockbuster success of Kalki 2898 AD which recently crossed 1000 crores worldwide gross.## It is known to everyone that Prabhas will be teaming up with Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi and according to the latest Telugu media reports, the shoot for the yet-untitled film will commence in September this year. It is said to be a period action drama movie, set against the backdrop of the Razakar movement. ## The film will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers which also has Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, Jr. NTR's film with Prashanth Neel, Ram Charan's next with Buchi Babu Sana, and Pawan Kalyan's Bhagat Singh with director Harish Shankar in the pipeline. ## Meanwhile, Prabhas currently has director Maruthi's romantic horror comedy, The Raja Saab in production. The movie has already completed 40% of the total shoot and the next schedule will resume in the first week of August. Mumbai, July 30 - Marvel Studios shocked the entertainment fraternity when it announced the much-talked-about comeback of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to headline the next Avengers movies along with the director duo of Russo Brothers (Joe Russo and Anthony Russo) at the San Diego Comic-Con event recently.## Unlike what people might have thought Downey Jr. would make a comeback as Iron Man, the superhero character he has donned over the years since the inception of the MCU, the actor has been tasked to play the villainous Doctor Doom this time around.## Though the casting of Downey Jr. has garnered a mixed reception no one can deny the fact that it, along with Russos' directorial MCU comeback only gonna benefit Marvel big time just like the old days when they used to help Marvel print money at the box office like the back of hand. This, however, will cost Marvel way more than what it used to pay the Iron Man star and Russos in the past.## According to Variety, the Kavin Fiege-owned Marvel will sign a $80 million paycheck for Anthony and Joe Russo to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars and significantly more for Robert Downey Jr. to tackle uber-villain Doctor Doom in the two tentpoles. ## The report further revealed that the Russos' deal with the studio doesn't include back-end compensation, but it does contain performance escalators that kick in at the $750 million and $1 billion thresholds. It is to be noted that the director duo is also producing the upcoming Avengers movies under their banner AGBO.## Downey Jr. has been by far the biggest paid member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Variety reports that the actor has earned between $500 million and $600 million for playing Iron Man. For the upcoming Avengers movies, the actor will get the perks that include private jet travel, dedicated security and a whole trailer encampment, other than his massive undisclosed payday, which is, as said above, way more than Russos.## Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars are scheduled to be released in May 2026, and May 2027, respectively. Mumbai, July 29 - Another major box office clash is shaping up to take the center stage at the Hindi box office in 2025 after Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted romantic horror comedy The Raja Saab confirmed April 10 release in multiple languages.## Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab will be Prabhas' next release after the current box office phenomena, Kalki 2898 AD which recently crossed 1000 crores worldwide and became only the 7th Indian movie ever to achieve the feat.## Prabhas is easily the biggest Pan India star at the moment, however, he might not have smooth sailing with his next film as far as the Hindi box office is concerned as it will potentially meet its biggest threat in the form of Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi-fronted Jolly LLB 3. ## It was recently reported that Jolly LLB 3 would be released on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti on Thursday, April 10, 2025, after superstar Yash-fronted Toxic, which is scheduled for an April 10 release, reportedly pushed back to a new date due to the lengthy production. ## Jolly LLB 3 is easily one of the most-anticipated Bollywood movies of 2025. Mumbai, July 29 - A couple of days back, the makers of John Abraham-fronted upcoming action drama Vedaa issued a statement stating that the censorship of the movie was facing delay due to some reasons as the team putting all the efforts to make it ready for August 15 release.## While there is no official word on further development yet, the latest reports have confirmed that Vedaa has been censored by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and it has received a 'U/A' certificate without any cuts, as per Pinkvilla. The makers, however, have been advised to put a disclaimer at the beginning to avoid any confusion. ## The movie deals with an important issue and the CBFC team reportedly could relate to what makers are trying to address through the film. With this, the path for the August 15 release has also been cleared and the makers will kickstart promotion with the trailer release this week. The Vedaa trailer too has been certified U/A by the CBFC with a run time of 3 minutes and 10 seconds.## Directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment, Vedaa depicts the bravery of one person challenging a draconian system in an uprising. New Delhi, July 29 - Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's romantic-comedy Jatt and Juliet 3 has become the highest-grossing Indian Punjabi film of all-time at the worldwide box office, beating Gippy Grewal's Carry On Jatt 3.## Directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, Jatt & Juliet 3 recently became only the second Indian Punjabi film to top 100 crores worldwide, and now, it has become the top grosser with approximately 102 crores worldwide collection. Carry On Jatt 3 is a little short of the 102 crores mark at second place.## In India, the third instalment in the blockbuster franchise has grossed approximately 44.50 crores while the overseas collection is an estimated 57.50 crores after the fifth weekend (32 days). As reported previously, JJ3 is the highest-grossing Indian Punjabi film at the overseas box office.## The highest-grossing Punjabi movie is Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan's The Legend of Maula Jatt which is a Pakistani movie. Chennai, July 29 - Tamil star Dhanush scored a much deserving success with his latest action thriller Raayan after the excellent 3-day opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The A-rated blockbuster scored close to 70 crores gross collection, already one of the highest-grossing Tamil movies of the year.## Directed and headlined by Dhanush, Raayan witnessed a continued jump over the weekend at the domestic box office, which is not a regular case for South Indian films. With approximately 49 crores gross collection, the movie scored the second biggest opening weekend for a Tamil title of 2024, behind only Indian 2. ## In Tamil Nadu, Raayan minted approximately 34 crores gross, followed by approximately 5.50+ crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telengana). The rest of the domestic market contributed approximately 10 crores gross collection. ## At the overseas box office, the movie has had a superb weekend with approximately 22 crores gross. This led to approximately 71+ crores worldwide cume, making it the 6th highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024. The worldwide opening weekend of Raayan has almost wiped out Dhanush's last film, Captain Miller's entire run of 75 crores gross. ## Raayan will cross Captain Miller and Ayaalan (76.60 crores gross approx.) by the first Monday or Tuesday to become the 4th highest-grossing Tamil film of the year. Mumbai, July 28 - Marvel Studios returns to its old box office glory with Deadpool and Wolverine which blew the industry projection away to create history at the box office by scoring the biggest opening for an R-rated (equivalent to A rating in India) at the domestic and worldwide box office.## Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine shattered records to score $211 million (1765 crores) in the 3-day opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. This is the biggest opening for an R-rated and 8th biggest of all time for any movie, beating fellow MCU title Black Panther's $202 million start.## At the overseas box office, the Shawn Levy's directorial superhero comedy grossed a spectacular $233 million (1950 crores) on a 5-day opening weekend over 52 markets, for a worldwide cume opening weekend of $444 million (3720 crores) as the 11th biggest Hollywood opening ever at the global box office.## Only 13 movies in history have opened to $400+ million worldwide, as Deadpool 3 beats Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's $422 million and also edged past Avatar: The Way of Water's $441 million to claim the 11th spot in terms of worldwide gross opening weekend.## China is the biggest international market with $24 million weekend, followed by the UK with $22.10 million, and Mexico with $18.70 million at 2nd and 3rd spot, respectively. California, July 28 - Amid the shocking announcement of Robert Downey Jr.'s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) coming back in a different avatar, Marvel Studios has revealed the title of Fantastic Four which will be the 37th movie in the MCU.## During Marvel Studios' most anticipated panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) on Sunday (IST), the film's title was revealed as Fantastic Four: First Steps. The movie stars Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing). ## WandaVision director, Matt Shakman has been tasked to direct the latest take on the classic Marvel team that originated in the comics in 1961. Oscar winner Michael Giacchino was confirmed as the composer of the film that is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025, as the first movie in the MCU's Phase 6.## The original Fantastic Four movie, starring Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis, was released in 2005, followed by its sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in 2007 with the same cast. The last and third film in the franchise, adapted from the ultimate universe version of the team, was released in 2015, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Mumbai, July 28 - Marvel Studios/Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has become the first-ever movie franchise to hit $30 billion at the worldwide box office after the release of the latest blockbuster Deadpool and Wolverine. The milestone was announced during the studio's Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, led by studio chief Kevin Feige.## MCU started with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man (2008) which grossed $586 million globally. The latest Deadpool & Wolverine which is the 34th movie in the blockbuster franchise pushed the MCU to become the first to reach the $30 billion milestone after the record opening for an R-rated title and is poised to score $450+ million in its global opening weekend. ## The comic book turned into a feature film franchise has delivered unbelievable success for Marvel/Disney. Across the 34 films so far, Avengers: Endgame ($2.799 billion) and Avengers: Infinity War ($2.05 billion) stand as the two highest-grossing MCU films globally, followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home as the third biggest with $1.92 billion.## Between the top-grossing titles, MCU has also seen tough days with major mishits such as The Marvels, the 33rd movie in the franchise, and the most recent to Deadpool 3. It is the lowest-grossing MCU title ever with just $206 million worldwide. California, July 28 - Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but in a new avatar as the actor has been revealed to play villainous Victor Von Doom in the next two Avengers movies, to be directed by the Russo Brothers - Joe Russo and Anthony Russo. ## The blockbuster announcement was made during the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 event where Marvel has held a panel for the first time since 2022. Downey Jr. will be introduced as Doctor Doom in Avengers 5, which is now titled Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both the movies are scheduled to be released in 2026 and 2026, respectively## Over the years, Robert Downey Jr. has been an integral part of the MCU as the iconic protagonist Iron Man/Tony Stark since his debut in the 2008 Iron Man movie, and reprised the role in 10 Marvel films, including next 2 Iron Man movies, "The Incredible Hulk", "The Avengers", "Captian America: Civil War", "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Spider-Man: Homecoming", "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame". ## Downey's character as Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame, and since then, there have been speculations that he might return in future MCU movies considering how the franchise has been shaping up with the Multiverse and Mutant saga. Mumbai, July 27 - After the huge opening day of approximately 21 crores net (approx. 27 crores gross), Marvel Studios' superhero comedy Deadpool and Wolverine has witnessed a jump of around 10% on its second day at the Indian box office which is good for an A-rated Hollywood title. ## According to the early estimates, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer blockbuster scored in the range of 22.50-23.50 crores net (28-30 crores gross) on its second day, pushing the 2-days total to around 44 crores net and 55+ crores gross in all versions.## The jump in the collection indicates the positive word of mouth among the moviegoers. These types of films tend to stay flat after the big opening. The Marvel tag, however, is a big plus as it is a popular movie brand in India and with positive reception, Marvel movies have done well in the past and Deadpool 3 should be the next on this list. ## The Shawn Lavy's directorial is heading for around 67-70 crores net (85+ crores gross) on the opening weekend which is an excellent result for the movie.## On the other hand, the Tamil movie Raayan has a super solid hold on its second day after delivering the career-best opening for actor Dhanush with approximately 15.75 crores gross in India. On its second day, the action thriller scored an estimated 15.50-16.50 crores gross (13.50-14.50 crores net) in all versions.## South Indian movies tend to see a drop on their second day after the big opening but this was not the case with Raayan which is riding high on the positive word of mouth.
