Among Tamil cinema's surprise performers of 2026, Mandaadi has delivered one of the more notable opening days. Unlike several higher-profile releases backed by established franchises or marquee stars, the film arrived with relatively modest expectations and relied heavily on audience curiosity and grassroots buzz. By the end of Day 1, however, the film had emerged as a strong performer in Tamil Nadu while also posting a respectable contribution from the Telugu market, giving Soori the biggest opener of his career. On Day 1, Mandaadi collected ₹4.75 Cr India net and ₹5.55 Cr India gross across 2,953 shows, running at an overall occupancy of 32.7%. Overseas markets contributed another ₹1.00 Cr, taking the film's worldwide gross collection to ₹6.55 Cr.
