John Abraham's 'Vedaa' Locks New Release Date

Mumbai, June 7 - John Abraham-starrer action drama Vedaa release date has been postponed to Independence Day 2024. The movie is directed by Nikkhil Advani and it marks his second collaboration with Abraham as a director after Batla House. ## Vedaa was supposed to be released on July 12, 2024, but the makers have now set an August 15 release. This means the movie will be clashing with the hugely-awaited Pan India movie, Pushpa 2 - The Rule, starring superstar Allu Arjun. ## Reportedly inspired by true events, Vedaa depicts the bravery of one person challenging a draconian system in an uprising. It follows a young woman's fight for justice, guided by a man who becomes her ally. Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut Slapped By CISF Constable At Chandigarh Airport

Chandigarh, June 6 - Actress turned-politician, Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) woman constable at the Chandigarh airport on Thursday, according to a report by NDTV. ## Kangana Ranaut was elected as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency of Himachal Pradesh on the Bhartiya Janata Party ticket. The actress was about to board a flight to Delhi from Chandigarh airport when the incident happened at around 3 PM today. ## It is alleged that Kangana was moving towards the boarding area at the airport to travel to Delhi when the CISF official, Kulwinder Kaur, allegedly argued with her and slapped her. The constable has been identified as Kulwinder Kaur. The CISF Commandant has taken note of the incident and is questioning the constable, per NDTV. ## Kangana won the Lok Sabha elections from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh when the results were declared on June 4. Mumbai, June 6 - A sequel to Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani's family comedy-drama JugJugg Jeeyo is reportedly in the early development at Dharma Productions with Raj Mehta is expected to return as the director. ## According to a report by Peepingmoon.com, after teasing a sequel for a long time, Karan Johar and Raj Mehta are officially working on JugJugg Jeeyo, however, the report suggests the makers may change the title and it is more likely to be a spiritual sequel. ## It is said that Raj Mehta has begun writing the sequel with his team of writers and is looking to take it in on floors by the end of this year or early 2025. Mumbai, June 5 - Director Rajesh A Krishnan's heist comedy Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon is turning out to be a big success on Netflix after emerging as one of the biggest box office successes of the year. ## Crew premiered on Netflix on May 24 after completing 8 weeks of the theatrical run with over 150 crores in gross collection at the worldwide box office. On its Netflix premiere, the movie scored 5.4 million views in the opening weekend, taking one of the best starts of the year for an Indian title. ## The movie's viewership shot up in the second week (May 27 - June 2) as it scored 8.9 million views. Mumbai, June 2 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi has a good opening weekend at the domestic box office with a collection of around 17 crores net. ## The romantic sports drama witnessed a jump of around 20% on Sunday for an estimated 5.25-5.75 crores net collection, pushing the total collection to around 17 crores in the first 3-day weekend which is on the expected lines. ## Mr and Mrs Mahi got a cinema day boost on its opening day so the weekend collection is probably around 3 crores higher than what it could have been with the regular prices. Mumbai, June 2 - One of the biggest Tamil hits of 2022, romantic-comedy Love Today is getting its Hindi remake with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor in the lead roles while Advait Chandan, who directed Secret Superstar (2017) and Lal Singh Chaddha (2022), is directing it. ## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the Hindi remake of Love Today has been titled Loveyapa, named after a term that can be used to describe the combination of love and siyappa. Junaid and Khushi play a deeply-in-love young couple in this quirky love story. ## Produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment, the shoot of Loveyapa reportedly commenced on May 27 and is currently being shot at Mira Road in Mumbai. Mumbai, May 31 - Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer sports romantic drama Mr and Mrs Mahi has taken a good start at the domestic box office, thanks to the Cinema Lovers Day which boosted the footfalls due to lower ticket prices. ## The movie witnessed excellent occupancy throughout the day and scored an estimated 6.75-7.25 crores net collection on its opening day. Mumbai, May 30 - Rajkummar Rao's biographical drama Srikanth has emerged as a surprise winner of the year as the movie has topped 50 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office amid low expectations. ## Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth grossed approximately 49.50 crores worldwide, including 47 crores domestically and an estimated 2.50 crores overseas in the first 20 days. The first edition of Cinema Lovers Day took place in September 2022 when ticket prices were kept at just Rs. 75, followed by the next edition in September 2023, and February 2024. ## Cinema Lovers Day has massively benefitted movies by attracting footfalls in large numbers. Earlier this year, Yami Gautam-fronted Article 370 benefitted from this. The upcoming, Mr and Mrs Mahi, starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, is expected to get a boost due to the reduced ticket prices. ## Mr & Mrs Mahi is scheduled to be released on May 31st and the ticket prices will be sold at just Rs. 99/ticket on its opening day. Apart from the Mr and Mrs Mahi, the other films to be released on the day are Savi and Chhota Bheem And The Curse Of Damyaan. ## Earlier, Cinema Lovers Day was supposed to be celebrated on April 19 but was postponed due to the general election. Srinagar, May 28 - Maverick Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty recently wrapped a major schedule of Ajay Devgn-fronted Singham Again in Srinagar of Jammu and Kashmir. As the makers have completed the J&K schedule of the movie, Shetty has shared a video expressing gratitude to the people of Kashmir.## The 1 minute and 25 seconds long video shows the transformation of J&K, which once was badly affected by terrorism, after the abrogation of Article 370. Mumbai, May 27 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's action drama Sikandar is one of the most anticipated films in the making. Mumbai, May 27 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's hands are full at the moment with several films and he is reportedly in the process of locking one more film with director Jagan Shakti who made his directorial debut in 2019 with Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal.## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Ajay Devgn is discussing a probable collaboration with Jagan Shakti and the duo have met multiple times over the last few months for the same. It is said that Ajay is excited by the idea pitched to him by Jagan Shakti and is looking forward to the collaboration.## The report further reveals that the movie in question could go on floors by early next year if everything goes as planned. Dharma Productions Announces 'Dhadak 2'; Sets Official Release Date

Mumbai, May 27 - Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has teamed up with Zee Studios and Cloud 9 Pictures to announce the sequel of 2018's romantic thriller Dhadak. Directed by Shazia Iqbal in her directorial debut, Dhadak stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri in the leading roles. ## The official announcement of the movie was made on May 27 with a video which shows that Dhadak 2 is a story about a boy and a girl who fall in love but due to the difference their cast, they have to fight the society to love together. ## The makers have also confirmed that Dhadak 2 will be hitting theaters on November 22, 2024. ## कैसे मिलेंगे - आग और पानी?
