Hyderabad, April 15 - The Indian box office post the Covid-19 pandemic and after many big blockbusters, it has exploded again like never before, thanks to the long-awaited and highly anticipated Pan-India biggie, Pushpa 2 - The Rule. The Allu Arjun-fronted action drama has broken several records at the domestic box office and is set for a solid run in the coming weeks.## The Sukumar-directed film was released on over 12000 screens worldwide, including over 8000 screens in India. The craze for this particular movie has been such that theatre owners are arranging midnight shows to meet the demand with supply, and still people are finding it tough to get tickets, especially in North India, where the craze for this is sky-high. ## Pushpa 2 was projected to break RRR's opening day record at the domestic box office, and it did exactly that by a long margin, both at the domestic and worldwide box office. Chennai, December 7 - Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action drama film Kanguva failed to live up to expectations and turned out to be a big disaster at the box office. Far from the humongous claims, this Siva's directorial ended up under 110 crores gross worldwide as a massive disappointment. ## With not getting much at the box office, the makers have now announced the streaming release date of the film in South Indian versions in the hope of a turnaround. The South Indian versions - Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on December 8. ## The theatrical window of the film is just 21 days which is the lowest for a Pan India movie and an indication of how badly the film performed at the box office. However, as has been seen in past movies, the box office disasters have also failed to generate viewership on OTT as well. ## The movie is produced by Studio Green in association with UV Creations. Mumbai, December 7 - After another big second day, Pushpa 2 - The Rule is going berserk on Saturday at the Hindi box office and will be looking to come close to the opening day collection of around 70 crores net which is insane. ## Starring superstar Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2 has minted approximately 127 crores net collection in Hindi in the first 2 days and with big Saturday and Sunday loading, the movie will be eyeing to top superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan's opening weekend and it should get there easily. ## Jawan had scored approximately 252 crores net in its first 4-day opening weekend and Pushpa 2 will be looking to score 255 crores net collection at minimum to claim the biggest first weekend total ever in Hindi. This is also the first time when a South Indian movie will have a 200+ crores net weekend in Hindi. ## Pushpa 2 is unlikely to stop after potentially the record-breaking opening weekend. Hyderabad, December 7 - It was a matter of time but it happened rather quickly for Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule which has surpassed the lifetime total of the first movie Pushpa - The Rise at the Hindi and worldwide box office in just 2 days. ## The blockbuster action drama has minted over 120 crores net collection in Hindi in just 2 days, beating Pushpa's 106+ crores net lifetime total to become Allu Arjun's biggest grosser. It is the 11th South Indian movie and the second for Allu Arjun to surpass 100 crores net mark in Hindi. ## Pushpa 2 has also topped Pushpa at the worldwide box office in as many days after a strong second day, thanks to the major contribution from the Hindi heartland. The global total in the film has crossed 400 crores gross in 2 days, beating the entire run of Pushpa (350 crores gross) to become Allu Arjun's biggest grosser. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 is targeting a worldwide gross of around 700 crores in its four-day opening weekend, making it the biggest opener in Indian cinema. Mumbai, December 6 - After the historic opening day collection, superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has a sensational hold in Hindi on its second day with a drop of around 25% despite the mid-week release and mammoth opening. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 breached the half-century mark again on its first Friday/second day as early estimates suggest the collection in the range of 52 crores net which can rise to 55 crores depending on the hold in the mass belt which will be known by tomorrow. ## The total Hindi collection of the film has crossed the 100 crores mark in just 2 days at around 122+ crores net which also surpassed the lifetime Hindi total of Pushpa - The Rise (106+ crores net). The pre-sales for Saturday and Sunday are phenomenal as the opening weekend of the movie is expected to be 240-260 crores net. ## While Pushpa 2 is having a riot in Hindi, it witnessed a heavy and might be an alarming drop in South Indian states. In Telugu states, the movie is having a drop of over 60% as early estimates suggest 25-30 crores gross, followed by around 8-9 crores gross in Karnataka, and 8-9 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. ## Thanks to the Hindi version, Pushpa 2 seems to be heading for another huge day of over 100 crores gross domestically as early estimates suggest the collection to be in the range of 105-115 crores gross which is about a 45% drop from the pure opening day. ## The film is expected to see good growth on Saturday and Sunday in South Indian states whereas the Hindi version will be in riot mode over the weekend to post unheard numbers. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 6 - Vijay Sethupathi's Tamil action thriller Maharaja has topped 150 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office, thanks to the fantastic run in China. This is the first movie of the actor in the lead role to top this milestone. ## Maharaja was released in China on November 29 and in the first week, the film grossed approximately 41 crores which pushed its total worldwide cume to around 147 crores gross. On its second Friday, Maharaja has grossed approximately 5.50 crores which took its total collection past the 150 crores mark. ## After the second Friday collection in China, Maharaja has surpassed Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 (149 crores gross) to become the 5th highest-grossing Tamil movie and also the 5th 150 crores Tamil grosser of 2024 at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, December 6 - Kannada superstar Yash rose to nationwide fame after the monstrous success of KGF 2 which is the highest-grossing Kannada movie of all time. The actor is now shooting for national award-winning director Geetu Mohandas' gangster action drama titled Toxic which will be released next year.## Yash recently landed in Mumbai to shoot for Toxic and according to a report by Filmfare, the actor visited superstar Shah Rukh Khan at his residence, Mannat which has sparked rumours about their possible collaboration.## While the exact details of the duo's meet are not known yet, rumours are making the rounds that they met to discuss a collaboration which is in the works. Chennai, December 6 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has completed its first week at the China box office with a superb collection of close to 41 crores gross, including premieres. It has already become the highest-grossing Tamil movie on the mainland. ## After grossing approximately 26.50 crores in the opening weekend (including premiers), Maharaja showed a stronghold on Monday by scoring 3 crore gross. The movie has shown an upward trend since Monday as the collection for the rest of the week was higher than the previous day (from Tuesday to Thursday). ## The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial minted $4.82 million (40.80 crores gross) in the full first week which is a fantastic total. Maharaja is the highest-grossing Indian movie in China since Thugs Of Hindostan in November 2018. Overall, the Tamil blockbuster is the 13 biggest Indian grosser there. ## Maharaja is expected to have a strong second weekend as word of mouth is super positive. The film has an 8.6 rating on the Chinese movie review site Douban and is regarded as "one of the highest-rated Indian films in recent years". ## After the first week of collection in China, Maharaja's worldwide total is nearing 150 crores gross which it will achieve by the second weekend. Mumbai, December 5 - It's red letter day for the Indian cinema which is seeing history being re-written at the box office, courtesy of the most hyped movie in recent times, Pushpa 2 - The Rule starring superstar Allu Arjun and director by Sukumar. ## After the record-breaking night previews on December 4, the action drama set the box office on fire on its opening day and created history by taking the biggest opening ever in India, beating the record of SS Rajamouli's RRR by a good margin. ## The film is flirting with the biggest opening ever in Hindi which is with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (65.50 crores net). According to the early estimates, Pushpa 2 has scored around 65 crores net and the opening can be higher than Jawan depending on the single screen numbers which will be known by tomorrow. ## In Telugu states, the blockbuster is estimated to gross in the range of 85+ crores on its first day and including previews (December 4), the opening is estimated to be around 100 crores gross in AP/TG, making it only the second movie after RRR to score 100+ crore opening in this region (per estimates). ## In Karnataka, Pushpa 2 is expected to gross in the range of 15 crores, followed by 9-10 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and 6-7 crores gross in Kerala.
