Rhea Ripley won the 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match. ## Rhea Ripley entered 1st and sold the spear she took from Beth Phoenix earlier. Throughout the match, Rhea did 7 eliminations including Liv Morgan, B-Fab, Asuka, Chelsea Gree, Raquel Rodriguez, and Michelle McCool. ## Ripley won the 2023 Women's Royal Rumble match by last eliminating Liv Morgan. It's important to note that the winner of the 30-woman Royal Rumble match goes on to challenge for a women's championship match at WrestleMania 39. At Royal Rumble Sami Zayn attacked Roman Reigns with a chair following his match against Kevin Owens in the main event. ## HEARTBREAK 💔🎥 @WWE | #RoyalRumblepic.twitter.com/zSbEfEFeqT— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) January 29, 2023 ## The longstanding rivalry between Reigns and Owens spawned an incredible series of brutal Universal Title showdowns over the past few years, including a Steel Cage Match, a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match, and a Last Man Standing Match. ## This year at Royal Rumble KO once again found himself at odds with The Head of the Table and The Bloodline. However, Owens once again wasn't able to steal the gold, but he did get back his friendship with Sami Zayn who was aligned with The Bloodline for a long time. ## After the match, Reigns attacked Owens. The Usos gave him the 1D as Reigns put his arm around Zayn. The Usos put a chair over Owens’ head and neck as Solo Sikoa gave him a running hip attack. They handcuffed Owens’ hands to the top rope and the Usos repeatedly superkicked Owens. Reigns grabbed a chair and went to hit a helpless (and already dead) Owens but Zayn stepped in his way. Zayn told Reigns he was already the champion and didn’t need to go that far. Reigns instead offered the chair to Zayn. ## Reigns screamed at Zayn to hit Owens. Reigns said he loved Zayn and he was in their family but if he didn’t want to do it, he should “go and do Jackass shit.” Reigns got in Zayn’s face and told him to do it. ## Zayn finally did it. He nailed Reigns in the back with the chair. This got a huge pop but it was quelled after Jimmy superkicked Zayn. Solo and Jimmy beat the crap out of Zayn. ## The crowd chanted for Jey who just watched. The Bloodline encouraged him to join but instead, Jey walked off. The crowd cheered Jey who walked down the aisle, obviously torn up by his decision. Reigns beat the shit out of Zayn with the chair as the crowd booed. This Saturday at the 2023 Royal Rumble event, Roman Reigns defends the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against non-other than Kevin Owens. ## At this event, the rivalry will be reignited from the 2020 TLC match where Owens challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, and again at Royal Rumble on January 31, 2021, but was defeated both times due to assistance from Jey Uso and Paul Heyman. ## Roman Reigns appeared on the latest edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and talked about facing off against Kevin Owens at WWE Royal Rumble. ## Roman Reigns was asked about what strategy he holds up against Kevin Owens heading into the Royal Rumble, "Don't change anything. I've been beaten up Kevin Owens for years now. This is a tough sturdy guy, you know and he's a little crazy. He's willing to do anything out there, but I've faced him a few times and I've been pretty successful. ## So for me, you know, I just feel like as long as I don't change anything if it's not broke don't break.
