A Sequel To Blockbuster 'Rowdy Rathore' To Be Headlined By Siddharth Malhotra: Report
Mumbai, April 11 - The franchise-based films seem to be the best bet for the Bollywood film industry at the moment. We have already witnessed the huge impact of the franchises post the covid-19 pandemic with the likes of "Drishyam 2" and "Pathaan" and there are at least 20 films in the works across different IP franchises. ## One of the most talked about films in recent times, Rowdy Rathore 2 is also in development and has been in the writing stage for a long time. The first film "Rowdy Rathore" (2012) was headlined by superstar Akshay Kumar, however, as per the latest reports, the sequel will go through major casting changes. ## According to Pinkvilla, the makers are in talks with Sidharth Malhotra to play the fierce cop in the sequel and he is said to be interested in doing the film. He is, however, still contemplating if he should play a cop role since he is already a part of Rohit Shetty Cop Universe for the digital platform. ## "The makers are looking to take the film on floors in the next 2 months as the basics are already on paper. It's just about getting a cast on board the film now. The talks are also on with a top director, who delivered a blockbuster last year, to be at the helm of the affair", Pinkvilla reports. ## Meanwhile, initially, there were plans to make "Rowdy Rathore 2" with Akshay Kumar, however, the latest reports indicate he might or might not be in the film as Sidharth is offered the role. It will be produced by Shabina Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and a leading production studio. ## Stay tuned...
