Box Office: Samrat Prithviraj Ends First Week On A Low Note

Mumbai, June 10 - The last week's mega release Samrat Prithviraj fronted by Akshay Kumar has ended its first week on a low note. Samrat Prithviraj just collected 55.05 crores net box office collections in the first week. The film was released on around 4000 screens in India and the budget of the film is said to be over 200cr making it one of the biggest budgeted flicks in Bollywood. There are no circuits or centers where the film has done well with the biggest circuits like Mumbai, Delhi/UP, and Gujarat rejecting the film completely. The performance on a few single screens is better but that's about it. The lifetime business of the film might not even reach 75cr. It will be a back-to-back disaster for Akshay Kumar who was going through the best phase of his career before the pandemic. Box Office: Samrat Prithviraj First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 8 - Samrat Prithviraj is heading towards another low day at the box office as the film is expected to score 3.75-4 crores net box office on the sixth day of its box office run. The collections are low considering the budget, star cast, and release size of the film. The big problem is the film is not even maintaining its low collections as the film is seeing daily drops. There are many reasons why this film did not get appreciation at the box office but the biggest reason is the content of the film not being up to the mark and on top, the film never looked like an event film as the interest was never built among the audience. This is mainly because of the bad trailers, songs, and promotions. The first week business of the film is heading towards the 55cr (+/-) net collections range. The lifetime collections at the moment are set to be around 75cr due to the open run of the film till JugJugg Jiyo. Shahid Kapoor Opens Up On The Box Office Failure of 'Jersey'

Mumbai, June 7 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor's last two films have had a complete opposite box office outcomes. While his "Kabir Singh" (2019) became the biggest hit of his career, the recently released "Jersey" turned out to be one of the biggest flops of the actor. ## "Jersey", which is the official remake of the Telugu movie of the same name, was anticipated to become a box office success but it couldn't even be survived two weeks at the ticket window and was wrapped up under 30 crores worldwide. Unlike its box office outcome, the movie got mixed to positive reviews from the audiences, but that couldn't help the movie to make it big at the box office. ## Shahid Kapoor, who had high hopes for this movie that he reportedly reduced his fees to convince the makers to bring it to theaters, has finally opened up on the movie's box office result. While reflecting on the film's performance, Shahid made a valid point that audiences' test is changing and it is the time for the industry to learn from the mistake and make what the public wants. ## "Jersey is close to my heart. Jersey has received a lot of love. But... it's been two years since Covid-19 and we need to understand how the audience feels. It's time for all of us to learn. Jersey will always be close to my heart, it has taught me that anything can happen in life", Shahid was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.## Going forward, Shahid Kapoor has Ali Abbas Zafar's "Bloody Daddy", scheduled to release later this year. The actor also has Amar Butala's Operation Cactus and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's mythological epic Karna. He is also reportedly in talks for the Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj biopic with Ashwin Varde.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, June 6 - Bhool Bhulaiya 2 has witnessed another good day at the box office on the third Monday of its box office run as the film is set to gross 2 crores net, as per the early estimates. The drop in collections from the third Friday is not that much which is a sign of a healthy trending film. The film has performed exceedingly well despite the arrival of Samrat Prithviraj which was an event film from the Hindi film industry but the nonperformance of that film has benefited Bhool Bhulaiya 2. The third Monday collections will push the entire collections of the film to a little under the 157cr net box office mark. The film should see healthy collections for another week or two till the release of Jugg Jugg Jiyo. Box Office: Samrat Prithviraj First Monday Early Estimates; Witnesses Huge Drop

Mumbai, June 6 - Samrat Prithviraj has witnessed a huge drop at the box office on the first Monday of its box office run as the film is expected to score 4.50-5 crores net on the fourth day. The drop from yesterday (Sunday) has been a massive 70% plus but the real shocker is that the film has seen around a 55% drop from the first day when the first day itself was not huge. This is a sign of an outright rejected film. The first Monday collections will take the entire collections of Samrat Prithviraj to around 44cr net box office mark depending on the final first Monday collections. The huge drop on Monday confirmed that the film will not be going to cross the 100cr mark at the box office. The film is heading for a disaster verdict at the box office as the costs of the film are humongous and the worldwide share of the film is going to be very limited. Box Office: Vikram First Sunday Early Estimates; Sensational Day At Work

Chennai, June 5 - The Raaj Kamal Films International's production "Vikram" fired up a remarkable opening weekend at the box office and crossed the 100 crores gross mark domestically. This takes the movie to over 91 crores net in three days. In the home state, Tamil Nadu, the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed movie scored another approx. 21.50 crores gross on Sunday, pushing total gross collection to 64+ crores in Tamil Nadu. The film is on track to become the biggest grosser in Tamil Nadu in 2022. The worldwide opening weekend of "Vikram" is over 140 crores, which is remarkable, to say the least. Box Office: Samrat Prithviraj First Sunday Early Estimates; Big Growth On The Cards

Mumbai, June 5 - Samrat Prithviraj is heading towards its best day at the ticket window as the film is expected to score over 16 crores net on the first Sunday. The collections could escalate a bit if the performance in single screens comes out better than expected. At this time Samrat Prithiviraj is heading for a 16-16.50cr net, as per the early estimates. The growth from Saturday is almost 30% which is a huge jump but for Samrat Prithviraj, you cannot use huge growth as the first two days underperformed. If the film was coming after a 40cr first two days collections then a 30% jump would have been considered big. The big Sunday will take the entire collections of Samrat Prithviraj's first three days collections to a little under the 40cr net box office mark depending upon the final Sunday numbers which will arrive in the morning. The first weekend will be higher than the last Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey. The overall weekend still remains low but the trajectory of the film is good till now as the film has seen a good growth after such a low opening day. The Monday hold is going to be very crucial and the film needs a double-digit Monday for any chance of survival at the box office. There are no circuits that are putting excellent numbers but the performance in the northern single screens is better while the multiplexes have shown a bad performance everywhere. About This Movie This film is directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films. Samrat Prithviraj stars Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana, and Sakshi Tanwar in key roles. Stay tuned...

Lara Dutta Confirms Returning In Salman Khan, Anees Bazmee's 'No Entry 2'

Mumbai, June 5 - Bollywood actress Lara Dutta has confirmed that she would be returning to reprise her role in the sequel to Anees Bazmee's superhit No Entry. The movie has been in the news for a long time and it was officially confirmed by Salman Khan himself in December last year. ## Salman Khan, along with Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan has already been confirmed to return in the sequel, tentatively titled No Entry Mein Entry. It was reported that the trio will be seen playing a triple role in the movie, however, it was then not confirmed whether the original lead heroines will return or not. ## Putting all the speculations to the rest, Lara Dutta confirmed at International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) that she "can't get back with him (Salman Khan) to work in No Entry 2". With Lara confirmed her return to the movie, it is also confirmed that Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly may also be reprising their roles. However, there is doubt about Bipasha Basu's participation in the movie. ## "No Entry Mein Entry" will be produced by Boney Kapoor who also produced the original movie. Released in 2005, "No Entry" was the highest-grossing film of the year. Anees recently told IndiaToday.in, "The shoot of the film is going to start very soon. I have met Salman Bhai four to five times and told him that we have to start this film soon now".## "I have the script and now it is up to Salman if he wants to do it and when he wants to do it... The No Entry Mein Entry script that I have is better than the No Entry one. It is 10 times funnier than No Entry, but the film to be made completely depends on Salman, it can be made only with him", Boney Kapoor had said according to DNA.## Stay tuned...
