Dhurandhar Surpasses Chhaava to Become the Longest Trending Indian Movies on BookMyShow: Check Out the Complete Top 10 List

BookMyShow's Trending feature has evolved into a definitive metric for theatrical longevity, moving beyond opening weekend hype to reflect consistent, ground-level ticket sales. In the latest update for 2026, two major releases—the spy-actioner Dhurandhar and the historical biopic Chhaava—have set a new benchmark for audience retention, officially becoming the longest-trending Indian films since the feature's inception. As of mid-February 2026, both Dhurandhar has clocked 59 days on the charts, surpassing the previous record of 58 days held by the 2025 all-time blockbuster, Chhaava. This sustained digital presence mirrors their box office dominance; Dhurandhar has utilized its high-octane scale to drive repeat viewership, while Chhaava has relied on strong word-of-mouth to maintain steady footfalls. Together, they have effectively monopolized the theatrical window for nearly two months, turning impressive starts into massive lifetime collections. The list is dominated by content-driven hits and massive spectacles, with Malayalam cinema showing incredible retention with entries like Premalu, Manjummel Boys, and the recent Lokah Chapter 1. Below is the list of Top 10 longest-trending Indian films on BookMyShow. Dhurandhar (59 Days): Confirmed to have sold over 13 million to 15 million tickets, marking it as the highest-ticketed Hindi film on the platform to date. 2. Chhaava (58 Days): Became the first Hindi film to cross the 12 million ticket sales milestone on BMS. By Day 55, it had accumulated over 226,699 shows, reflecting sustained high demand. 3. Stree 2 (57 Days): Sold over 10 million tickets, becoming only the sixth Indian film to achieve this. It remained among the top-trending films consecutively for nearly two months. 4. Premalu (53 Days): Holds the #1 spot for the longest-trending Malayalam movie in the post-feature era. It crossed 1 million ticket sales and registered over 86.6K+ votes, indicating high user interaction. 5. Pushpa 2: The Rule (53 Days): The most-watched film in BMS history with 20.41 million tickets sold. It set a record of selling 100,000 tickets per hour and was boosted by a Reloaded version released in Jan 2025. Longest Trending Movies (Rank 6-10) 6. Manjummel Boys (50 Days): A massive hit with approximately 4.3 million tickets sold. It became the highest-grossing Malayalam film in Tamil Nadu and held a theatrical presence for over 70 days. 7. Kalki 2898 AD (49 Days): Crossed a milestone of over 1.3 crore tickets sold, placing it in the top four films in platform history. It frequently reclaimed top sales spots even seven weeks after release. 8. Jawan (48 Days): Sold over 750,000 tickets in advance bookings alone. The film maintained a high volume of shows (171,034+) up to Day 47 and crossed 300,000 interests prior to release. 9. Lokah: Chapter 1 (46 Days): The first-ever Malayalam film to cross 5 million ticket sales on BookMyShow. It dominated screens for over 6 weeks with daily earnings reported well into its 7th week. 10. Mahavatar Narasimha (42 Days): Registered 500k+ ticket sales within just the first three days. The animated spectacle holds an exceptional rating of 9.6/10 based on over 325K+ votes. The trending data proves that while opening day numbers grab headlines, longevity is determined by content. Stree 2 and Premalu are prime examples of films that refused to slow down. However, the current dominance of Dhurandhar that approached the 60-day mark—signals a healthy theatrical ecosystem in 2026 where audiences are supporting films for months, not just weeks.

Dhurandhar: Ranveer Singh Film Smashes 8th Week Ticket Booking Record as Netflix Release Confirms 3H 25M Runtime!

Ranveer Singh's global phenomenon, Dhurandhar, has officially landed on Netflix today, January 30, 2026. However, the film is achieving something rarely seen in the history of Indian cinema: even as it begins its digital journey, it is shattering theatrical records in its 8th week. While fans are flocking to OTT, the film's massive momentum on BookMyShow (BMS) proves that the Dhurandhar Mania is far from over. The biggest headline today isn't just the OTT release, but the film's incredible theatrical endurance. In its 8th week, Dhurandhar has recorded a staggering 127,000 ticket bookings on BookMyShow. This puts it in the elite bracket of films like the Gujarati blockbuster Laalo (130K) and surpasses the 8th-week performance of Stree 2 (76K) and Chhaava (84K). This level of stamina—selling over 1.25 lakh tickets two months after release—highlights a massive repeat audience and a rock-solid grip on the mass circuits, making its Netflix arrival one of the most anticipated digital events of the year. To put these numbers into perspective, very few films in Indian cinema history have managed to maintain a six-figure ticket volume on BookMyShow by their 8th week. Dhurandhar has not only dominated the current box office but has also outperformed several recent blockbusters in their late-run stages. Top 8th Week Ticket Bookings on BMS: 1.Laalo: 130K (All-time regional record holder) 2.Dhurandhar: 127K (New Bollywood Record) 3.Chhaava: 84K 4.Stree 2: 76K By reaching 127K, Dhurandhar is now breathing down the neck of the Gujarati phenomenon Laalo, while comfortably cruising past the late-run stamina of Stree 2 and Chhaava. Interestingly, Laalo—which currently holds the 130K benchmark—boosted its pan-India presence even further with its Hindi version releasing on January 9. This data confirms that Dhurandhar is not just a hit but a long-distance runner that continues to attract thousands of daily viewers even two months after its release. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})   As the film went live on Netflix, a debate sparked regarding its runtime. The Netflix version is clocked at 3 Hours and 25 Minutes, while the final theatrical cut was 208 minutes (3 Hours and 28 Minutes). The technical reason is simple: The Netflix version is the full uncut theatrical version. The 3-minute difference is solely due to the removal of mandatory anti-tobacco and health warnings required for cinema halls in India. On a global streaming platform like Netflix, these 3 minutes of warnings are stripped away, giving fans a seamless 205-minute experience. The version on your screens today is exactly what propelled the film to its historic box office heights. The film's ability to gross over ₹1000 Cr within India alone (India Gross) is a testament to Ranveer Singh's unparalleled draw in the mass belts. From its high-octane action sequences to its emotional core, the film has managed to sustain a level of interest that most blockbusters lose by their fourth week. Entering the 8th week with over 1.25 lakh bookings while simultaneously releasing on OTT is a feat that may not be repeated for years to come. Dhurandhar Milestone Tracker: All-Time Blockbuster 1. The 1300 Cr Club: One of only 5 Indian films to reach ₹1300 Crore globally. 2. 8th Week Record: Highest 8th-week ticket sales for a Bollywood film with 127K bookings. 3. Domestic Giant: First film for Ranveer Singh to cross ₹800 Cr Net in India. 4. Digital Premiere: The 3H 25M cut is trending #1 on Netflix in multiple territories. Dhurandhar is a once-in-a-decade phenomenon. Whether you choose to witness the spectacle in a theater—joining the 1.27 lakh fans still booking tickets this week—or prefer the high-quality 3H 25M stream on Netflix, the experience is guaranteed to be legendary.

Indian Box Office Hit Record 13,000 Crore Plus In 2025; Dhurandhar Led The Charge

Mumbai, January 16 - The Indian box office hit a new peak with record-breaking business of 13,350 crores from over 1500 movies in 2025, as per Sacnilk's estimated data. This was also the first time that domestic grosses crossed 13K crore, beating the previous record of 11,500 crores in 2023, a year which saw the comeback of superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Bollywood led the charge once again with nearly 5600 crores gross collection, which is around 40% of the total domestic box office collection. The Hindi cinema has recovered from the Covid dent; however, the low to mid-range films are still struggling to find an audience, even though some of the films in this category exceeded expectations. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Jio Studios and B62 Studios' Dhurandhar was the biggest domestic grosser with over 975 crores gross, followed by Kantara Chapter 1 and Chhaava. The spy action thriller also became the biggest Hindi grosser of all-time, beating Pushpa 2, which grossed around 965 crores. The four South Indian industries captured the 47% of the market share, with Malayalam cinema recording its biggest year and showing the most significant growth of its history. It was a forgettable year for Punjabi and Bengali cinema, while the Gujarati industry hit a new milestone with 250 crores, thanks to the all-time blockbuster movie, Laalo, which became the first film from the language to hit 100 crores gross. Among all the films released in 2025, three films managed to cross 500 crores gross, while 37 titles topped 100 crores gross at the Indian box office. However, despite the record-breaking year, some of the high-profile releases disappointed, which indicates the audience is no longer interested in star-driven and forced franchise releases. Dhurandhar vs Chhaava: First Week Worldwide Box Office Comparison of Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal-starrers

Mumbai, December 12 - Bollywood star Ranveer Singh's spy action thriller Dhurandhar has had a dream debut at the box office as the film concluded its first week with excellent collections. The film delivered a record opening for a Ranveer Singh-starrer and put the actor in the elite list of actors with mammoth first-week collection. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhuradhar's first week collection is almost identical to Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, which was released in February this year. Despite being different in genres, both films stormed the box office, despite some of the so-called critics lashing out at them for their premises. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) India Box Office: Chhaava Holds the Upper Hand At the domestic box office, the historical action drama Chhaava had a stronger first-week gross with 262.50 crore, surpassing Dhurandhar's 248 crore in its debut week. Released much earlier in the year, Chhaava displayed exceptional reach across India, especially in Maharashtra and mass belts, where its historical drama theme resonated deeply with audiences. It sold approximately 1 crore tickets in the first week, which is the highest of the year. Chhaava's emotional storytelling and strong cultural connect helped it achieve a powerful opening stretch. Dhurandhar, meanwhile, delivered an explosive December start, performing exceptionally well in North India and urban centres. Its high-octane spy-action backdrop, sleek visuals, and powerful performances pulled in strong footfalls across multiplex chains, generating approximately 90 lakh footfalls.
