Chennai, August 19 - Director Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time for a gangster action drama film Coolie, which had a record-breaking opening weekend ever, after the record opening day, for a Tamil title. The movie entered the 400 crores club at the worldwide box office on its 5th day, and led the director to an elite club. ## With Coolie, Lokesh Kanagaraj has officially entered the elite club of Indian filmmakers who have delivered three consecutive 400+ crore worldwide grossers, standing tall alongside legends like SS Rajamouli and Rajkumar Hirani. Arguably the most bankable director of Tamil cinema currently, Lokesh keeps winning at the box office. ## The filmmaker began this extraordinary streak with Vikram (2022), a Kamal Haasan starrer that revived the superstar's box office dominance and grossed over 400 crore worldwide. He followed it up with Leo (2023), featuring Thalapathy Vijay, which, despite polarised reviews, went on to collect over 600 crore worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. Mumbai, February 28 - After lending in the top five most-watched films worldwide in its opening weekend, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's comedy-drama Dunki remained one of the most-watched non-English films on Netflix for the second consecutive week. ## Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki scored 11.1 million viewing hours from 4.2 million views during the week of February 19 - February 25 and was the third most-viewed non-English film worldwide. The movie was made available to stream from February 15 and it scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days. ## Dunki has so far scored 24.1 million viewing hours from 9.1 million views, making it one of the most-watched Indian films on the streamer in the first 11 days. Additionally, it is trending in the top 10 in 21 countries, including number 1 in India, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Pakistan. ## Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Studios, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Dunki witnessed higher viewership than SRK's last movie Jawan which scored 8.9 million views at the same time on Netflix. Mumbai, February 27 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh marked his return to the big screen in 2023 with mega-blockbuster Pathaan in January, followed by ever-bigger success in the form of Jawan in September, and by the end of the year, the actor scored another success in the form of Dunki. ## Dunki was supposed to be SRK's biggest movie due to his maiden collaboration with Maverick director Rajkumar Hirani. However, the comedy-drama couldn't come close to the actor's previous two movies though it ended up as a successful venture due to a controlled production budget. ## Released during the Christmas 2023 weekend, Dunki scored approximately 29 crores net upon its Thursday opening but the film couldn't show much growth from thereon during the weekend. It still scored a good first-week collection of 160 crores net but due to the mixed word of mouth, the movie dropped heavily in the second week to around 46 crores net. ## Dunki competed with Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire and the holdover Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor. The movie, however, kept pushing at low levels and eventually was able to cross 200 crores net collection, which can be termed decent given the genre but a lot was expected from the SRK and Rajkumar Hirani combo. ## The movie also underperformed at the overseas box office with an estimated 182 crores. The movie scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days of its launch and was the fifth most-watched non-English movie globally on the platform during the week. ## Produced by Jio Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, Dunki is trending in the top 10 in 15 countries, including number 1 in India, UAE, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Qatar, Maldives, Oman, and Mauritius. ## Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram continued to be in the top 10 non-English movies on Netflix for the second consecutive week. The Telugu and Hindi versions of the film were in the top 10 in its opening week (Feb. 5-11) and scored 8.1 million viewing hours from 3.1 million views. ## In the film's second week (Feb. 12-18), the Hindi version continued to attract viewership with 4.8 million viewing hours from 1.8 million views. Mumbai, January 11 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki has completed three weeks at the box office. The movie had a good first week domestically with approximately 160 crores net, before it dropped a bit heavily, around 71% in the second week and now in the third week, it has another drop.## Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the social comedy-drama witnessed a drop of around 65% and scored approximately 15.25 crores net in its third week. It has slowed down after the Christmas and New Year weekend, which was expected given its drama genre. ## The total three-week collection of Dunki is approximately 221.75 crores net (266 crores gross) and it is heading towards finishing below the 250 crores mark, at around 230-240 crores lifetime net collection which is still good numbers given the genre and mixed word of mouth. ## At the overseas box office, Dunki has scored around 172 crores gross, and allied to its domestic collection, the movie has scored approximately 438 crores at the worldwide box office.
